p.s. elections everywhere! loving le monde’s coverage of the EU vote, with a highly provocative look at the historically low turnout in the elections, along with the general shift rightward as green (e.g., europe écologie) parties seem to have cannibalized support for the stodgy socialists and undercut the left. (i still love you, ségo, though i find myself veering more and more centrist, wishing for an american equivalent of fine gael)… voter dejection and a rightward turn - what a contrast to the states last year, although one wonders if our political cultures converging? i can’t wait for my Economist next weekend.
