\\ PITCHFORK DAY 2 RECAP ///// {got there late ergh}
DELOREAN: walked in a couple of songs into their set, but they were the discovery of the weekend! layered “subiza” songs into pure sonic joy, like animal collective songs but not annoying as shit
 TITUS ANDRONICUS: not entirely my thing, but the jersey punk rockers delivered some tight musicianship
RAEKWON: had us baking in the sun for 20 excessive minutes and tepidly delivered some no-brainer wu-tang classics. however, he did bring out a pomo von trapp troupe of breakdancing children (ages 6 - 10?) who had more game than i ever will. omg.
PANDA BEAR: thinks too highly of himself… errrr
LCD SOUNDSYSTEM: tore it OFF THE CHAIN. someone else’s much better footage of the epically awesome “all my friends” linked, with major shoutouts to james murphy (how could i have doubted you?) for closing shop with “new york, i love you, but you’re bringing me down.” nancy whang + you on that a capella “empire state of mind” cover chorus that’s been the outro gimmick - it never gets old for us newyorkaises home away from home, you know?
